not listening Theres No Yeahbutts Here: Get Over Your Excuses, Im Not Listening Anyway There’s No “Yeahbutts” Here: Get Over Your Excuses, I’m Not Listening Anyway

I feel the need to address something,,,

Anything you say that starts with

“But I,,,,”

“Well you see,,,”

“My situation is unique/different,,,”

“I don’t have the time,,,”

“There’s too much going on,,,”

Is like nails on a chalkboard to me.  Because it’s an excuse.

Growing up my brother and I used to tell our mom that we didn’t have excuses, they were reasons.  Well, we were a couple of liars,,, they were excuses, and so are yours.

If you want a thing bad enough,,, you will get it.

I have a 3 year old daughter and she already knows the rules. There are no “yeahbutts” in this house.

I’m going to share something with you that motivates me daily and gets my heart pumping because I see it and read it everyday. I got this on a call with Larry Beacham (The Stonecold Millionaire)

If You Want a Thing Bad Enough

If you want a thing bad enough to go out and fight for it,
to work day and night for it,
to give up your time, your peace, and your sleep for it . . .

if all that you dream and scheme is about it,
and life seems useless and worthless without it . . .

if you gladly sweat for it and fret for it and plan for it
and lose all your terror of the opposition for it . . .

if you simply go after that thing that you want with all of your capacity,
strength and sagacity,
faith, hope and confidence and stern pertinacity . . .

if neither cold, poverty, famine,
nor gout, sickness nor pain,
of body and brain,
can keep you away from the thing that you want . . .

if dogged and grim you beseech and beset it,
with the help of God, you WILL get it!

I’m also going to share something else with you.  When I started in Network Marketing I was unemployed, living in my friend’s spare bedroom with my daughter sharing a twin size bed.

So if a single, broke, homeless, unemployed mother can do this, then so can you. PERIOD.

  1. Hey Stephanie, I think you were always more than someone who was “unemployed, living in my friend’s spare bedroom with my daughter sharing a twin size bed”

Good for you for knowing what you want and nothing is going to stop you.

    • Thanks Peter, I have to say this recession everyone is talking about was a blessing for me. I am so thankful that the automotive industry took a hit and I got laid off. Because now I’m wayyyyyy better off. ;) I actually kind of forgot what it’s like to have a “job” it’s been so long. LOL

  2. You know Stephanie, with what you personally shared, I do not believe ANYONE could have a valid excuse for not doing something ~ you are the type of person who learned really quick that success is not necessarily your current circumstances, yet rather what you do with your choices…and of course a little work & effort. I truly appreciate you sharing this :-)

    • That’s right. We have to do what we can with what have. Sitting around wishing for better resources doesn’t get things done. Some of the most successful people made something out of nothing because they HAD to get creative to make things happen. I don’t accept excuses from anyone because I won’t allow myself to make excuses ;)

  3. We must admit we’ve had a few excuses lately. We recognize this and accept full responsibility for our being lackadaisical in our efforts. We never quit or give up though but now it’s time to do some serious butt kickin! Thanks for always being a shining example of a true leader. Absolutely right, If you want something bad enough, you don’t let ANYTHING get in the way or stop you. Keep Rockin’ Steph!
