The Internet’s Most Prestigious Community

I know the title of this post alone is either going to get me praises or a lot of crap. So before you say either…. Read every single word of this post.

If you’ve ever wanted an in depth look at what MLSP is about then you’ve found it.  This isn’t one of those phony reviews that turns into a rah rah session to get you to join it.

First of all, if the name MLSP is new to you: MLSP (MyLeadSystemPro) is the #1 online community for internet marketers.

So why did I quit promoting it?

Let’s make this clear: I didn’t say that I QUIT MLSP, I said that I quit PROMOTING it. So if you’re here for a bashing of MLSP, you’re not going to get it.

MLSP serves 3 purposes.

1. It’s a tool. It’s a Marketing System. It’s fully customizable for creating pages to generate internet leads to create an email list.

2. It’s a training and educational resource on all methods of internet marketing.

3. MLSP is an affiliate product that can be used to generate commissions from people that you bring into the system, more commonly known as a “funded proposal”.

Sounds like a kick ass system right?

So why would I quit promoting it?

Because of how it was being used.

When MLSP started it was the best marketing system online, and it still is.

However it was the way that it was being used that had gone astray.

MLSP was created at a time when the internet was taking off for MLM marketing and the primary way that it was being was marketed was that online marketing was the only way to market and that “old school” marketing was dead.

Since that was the way it was presented that was how every marketer that joined and started using MLSP presented it.

That’s how I learned about it.

“Stop Chasing Your Friends & Family”

“Old School Marketing Is Dead”

“Offline Marketing No Longer Works”

And I’ll admit it,,, I fell for it.

individuality Why I Quit Promoting MLSP: The Internet’s Most Prestigious Community

However, I learned a crap load from MLSP, that’s why even though I’ve taken a break from promoting it I won’t cancel my membership.

It taught me how to stand out as an individual and how to connect with other marketers.

It’s also how I met the marketers that are making a killing working their business in the offline world while everyone else is scrambling around online and ignoring the offline world around them.

Hardest lesson I learned was that if I didn’t talk to my offline market then someone else would.

I’ve had a few people that were sitting on my warm market list that I had refused to call in the beginning join different MLM companies.

Luckily none had joined in mine or else I would have felt like a real ass.

So the lesson I learned was that Offline Marketing is NOT dead.

There was dramatic conversations and debates over which is better. Online vs Offline?

Everyone in the online circle had been brainwashed into thinking that online targeting other marketers who were already in a company was the way to go.

However the learning curve on how to do that took 6-12 months.

And getting solid results often took even longer for some marketers while they built up a strong reputation of leadership.

Successful networkers are not made overnight as so many people would have you believe.

So it wasn’t MLSP that was truly the problem, but they weren’t helping it any and it wasn’t until 2011 that they truly addressed the issue.

When they finally said “HEY!!! You’re using the internet wayyyyyy wrong!”

And they laid out in simple terms how the Internet was Killing Network Marketing.

(Which I thought was crazy because coincidentally I had put together and hosted a webinar a month prior called Online Marketing Is Ruining MLM)

MLSP laid out a crucial point in their webinar: PEOPLE WERE PRETENDING TO BE WHAT THEY’RE NOT

Faking it til you make it is bullshit.  You can’t just get a membership to a marketing community and all of a sudden you’re an online leader and able to teach others how to market online.  Aww hell no, you have to EARN IT.

(Funny side note: My friend Dale handles a LOT of Social Media accounts for so-called online marketers that admit that they don’t know how to market online,,, even though they say they teach people how to market online on their personal Facebook profiles LOL. Don’t be a liar like them! When you’re new you’re not teaching people, you’re just selling them the system that will teach them.)

So MLSP overhauled their entire system to correct the problem that a lot of marketers were creating with their marketing methods and to put and end to the online vs. offline crap.

magicwand 192x300 Why I Quit Promoting MLSP: The Internet’s Most Prestigious CommunityMLSP isn’t  a magic bullet, or a golden ticket to building an overnight MLM.  In fact, there is no such thing.

MLSP is a tool, always has been and always will be, that is to be used IN ADDITION to offline marketing.

Since MLSP is a tool for building an MLM that means it is an AFFILIATE product and not intended as a primary source of income.

I don’t claim to be an affiliate marketer. I actually lead with my primary company.

Do I use affiliate products? Yes. Do I make money off of those products? Yes. Do I care? No. The money that I make off of affiliate products is not a priority. They’re small commissions, so I could care less. They’re commissions off of tools. They’re a secondary income, they’re not intended to be a primary business, so it makes no sense to me to promote them out front.

When MLSP first began they did not encourage promoting a primary company upfront. It was placed at the end of a very long marketing sales funnel.

Where do people come into a funnel system from? Ads, social media, articles, blogs, or videos,,, just for a few examples. How do people find those? They’re searching for an answer to their specific problem and their specific needs.

The purpose of the sales funnel is to present them with a variety of solutions.

By the time someone got to see your primary company they had already spent a lot of money with you to setup their own sales funnel.

And they’ve already put in a lot of effort for it to funnel back to their own primary company. So what makes you think they’re going to switch companies after all that work?

Hiding your company behind a marketing system just seemed shady to me, and it also seemed so backwards that people were trying to learn how to market online and generate leads before they even knew what to say to those leads or how to bring them in to their primary MLM

Here’s why:
I’ve said in another post that there’s no use in generating online traffic if you don’t know how to convert that traffic into leads. Well, there’s also  a process and a series of steps in building an MLM empire.

upside down Why I Quit Promoting MLSP: The Internet’s Most Prestigious CommunityYou need to know how to sponsor before you learn how to market. Because if you don’t know how the basic process of sponsoring then there’s no reason to master online lead generation.

The process is learn to sponsor, learn to market, learn to generate traffic.

Most are doing it in reverse.

I personally will not work with someone and take the time to teach them to generate leads through internet marketing unless they have already sponsored someone through other means of networking. Whether that be sponsoring someone they met on Facebook or someone from their warm market.

Did you know that there is no one that has a large MLM downline that did it strictly online? The people that you hear about that have 100,000 people in their downline did NOT do it online. In fact most of them did it completely offline. I’m sure you’re thinking “but what about that guy that lives in the mountains in Costa Rica? He didn’t prospect coconuts and bananas, he has no warm market.” Even though he was able to sponsor 400 people into his primary business via the internet,,, the first 15 were from OFFLINE and his WARM MARKET. So even the online success stories started offline.

This is why I will no longer promote MLSP out front of my primary company. Because most of the people searching online and learning how to market have yet to sponsor ANYONE into their primary business. Purchasing a membership to a marketing system is only going to bring on more problems. An internet marketing system should not come before offline marketing or before the less complicated online methods of sponsoring from social networks. It also shouldn’t come before your primary MLM business.

nobs Why I Quit Promoting MLSP: The Internet’s Most Prestigious CommunityPeople appreciate transparency. Expose yourself for who you truly are and what you are marketing.

After MLSP overhauled their system and made it easier to get started in they made a crucial change that caught my attention and brought me back to the system.

They became transparent.

When a lead opts in they will see 3 things immediately.

1. The video training they were promised.

2. An intro to what MLSP is.

3. My primary company.

That is why I have come back to promoting MLSP after taking a break from it, obviously I don’t  promote it in front of my primary company, I talk about Numis Network all over this blog. I won’t hide what I do at the end of a sales funnel. And with the changes that MLSP made in their system, everything is upfront now and all of the marketers within the system are also transparent and taught from the beginning that MLSP is a tool to be used in ADDITION to offline marketing.

Marketing systems are not a magic bullet, and the creators of MLSP even say that.

I found a direct quote from Norbert Orlewicz co-creator of MLSP on a blog post of Mike Klingler.

“Creating your own funnels, websites, products etc. is absolutely the goal for any serious online marketer. You can see ALL of the leaders in our community do just that.”… “We all agree that to truly stand out in the marketplace, you will want to create your own stuff and offer affiliate programs and systems on the backend.”… “Each entrepreneur in the end must take responsibility and simply commit to whatever they choose to do depending on where they are at. All these strategies, and systems work, IF one commits to mastery.”

So am I promoting MLSP again? Yes, but not in the traditional sense that it was created as.

I prefer to build my MLM, because it pays more and is my main source of income. And what you focus on the most is what you will build the most.  But I’m not stupid and realize that not everyone is going to join my MLM. Some people really love the MLM they are already in but are looking to take it to the next level.

That’s what MLSP is for, not the great answer to your MLM struggles, you have to fix that within yourself. That’s an issue of just having the guts to talk to people.  MLSP is just a tool for you to find more people to talk to after you have talked to everyone you know.

I don’t sugar coat and I’m known for being rather bluntly honest, but if you wanna see it for yourself you can watch the webinar where MLSP says it themselves by Clicking Here.

  1. I totally agree Steph, and I have been running with Numis at the forefront since day one! MLSP is a tool! Not a true business. A tool helps you build the house. Numis is the house, MLSP is the hammer! Get job and if someone has a problem with it, they might want to reconsider their primary business.

  2. Hey Stephanie,

You are so right. MLSP is an awesome tool. I recommend it to those personally that I know are ready for it. Otherwise, it may cause conflict to those who are new to marketing or dont know what direction they want to go, affiliate or network marketing.

    You go girl!

    Amber Jones

  3. Hello Stephanie

I want to give you a big kiss on the cheek :)

I like what the guys are doing at MLSP but that’s not my business.

    Good for you Stephanie.

    Peter

  4. WOW, Stephanie What a post!

You are simply amazing for what you have done. You have taken the Principles of MLSP…the autoresponders, lead capture pages, the sales funnel and made them all your own and it is no wonder that you are so successful!

That is what the creaters of MLSP want you to do….learn from them and use “their stuff” until you know enough to make everything your own to brand yourself! Which is what you have done!

I know it took a lot of hard work, but clearly it is paying off as I see you rank in leadership in your primary mlm.

I LOVE MLSP and I will always use it and promote it, but I have to admit that at times it has gotten in the way of me prospecting, but that certainly is not the systems fault, it is mine, but lessons learned.

    Thanks for a great post!

    Kim

PS: You may not know this, but I have opted into your sales funnel and OMG – it is mindblowing information! This information alone could change the destiny of a struggling network marketer because you outline the process of building a business so easy, step by step! AWESOME!

  5. Hi Stephanie,

Yes you are right, there is a big difference between quitting the promotion of a product, and quitting the product itself. People do not like to be sold to, and thank you for reminding us of that.

    All best wishes, Diane :)

  6. Stephanie, you have your head on straight, have a mature outlook on how a large downline is really built, and know what you need to do build your business. I wish you much success as you stay consistently focused on what it will take to GET THINGS DONE! :)

  7. Stephanie, you rock. Great message. Great direction. Awesome focus. I know you will be a top leader. Be blessed!

  8. It all boils down to knowing what you want. It’s great that you are focused on your goal. Too many times, we get distracted when we are trying to build something. Your business will thrive with your dedication.

  9. Very powerful message Stephanie! I love MLSP as well for all the valuable training it has given me, but it can be a lot overwhelming for people brand new to the industry. It certainly isn’t for everyone or at least not at that moment in time. I have used it as a stepping stone into the internet marketing world and am now doing business consulting, much of which is based on the attraction marketing principals of branding and being the authority..no matter what industry you’re in.

    Keep on rockin’ it!

    • Thanks everyone so much for the support on this post. I knew it would probably go against what most people are doing and believe. No matter which product or marketing system you are using for promoting the intent should always be to step out on your own and find your own voice and do your own thing. It’s awesome to see that I am not the only one that has grown and learned and stepped out to do their own thing. MLSP is still an awesome source for learning internet marketing. It’s because of MLSP that I learned how to create my own funnel and my own product and my vision for my business. You guys rock!

  10. Wow! This post really stopped me in my tracks regarding my thought process of online marketing. I will be making a few adjustments to my approach and funnel. I love MLSP too, but your post rung true for me when I considered how many people have joined me in MLSP and the resulting time commitment. Very interesting post. I’m proud to have you as a leader and mentor!
p.s. how do I get a little thumbnail pic to appear next to my blog comments?

    • I still love MLSP too. :) I’ve learned a ton from it and have made the best business ventures and friendships with the people I met through it. But marketing is always evolving, when MLSP first hit it was revolutionary and success was easier with a simple capture page. Now there’s thousands of users, not just 100. Look at the people that are consistently on the leaderboards of MLSP and NONE of them use the capture pages that come with the system and their entire funnels are completely custom and with their own products/training.

(and to get your pic next to your comment go to gravatar.com and you can set up a profile,,, just be sure to use the same email address that you type in when you comment ;) )

  11. Hey Stephanie,
    Great post…and excellent leadership.

MLSP provides the training that most “systems” don’t, which makes it one of the best systems around and, yes, many people try to make MLSP the “business”…which it isn’t designed to be.

Love your site and your style. Keep up the great leadership.

    To Your Continued Success,
    Bill Palte

  12. Hey Stephanie,

I know this is an oldie, but I just read it for the 1st time so I wanted to chime in here.

It took some guts to be authentic about your MLSP assessment. Like any other system out there, the web is full of fanbois & fangirls who are evangelical about whatever system they’re using (whether or not their evangelism is substantiated or not).

I tend more toward your opinions on MLSP…great tool, but not the “end all, be all.” I could say the same for some other popular systems out there. Each thing has its place and there is no holy grail.

That’s not a sexy statement, so it leaves the door open for the unscrupulous and the uneducated to sell something as if it’s a magic wand of some kind…we both know the truth, education and consistent diligent effort is what gets the job done and eventually equates to measurable success.

Warm market and offline marketing are what made me a full timer in this industry. The web is simply a way to mix it up, expand my reach, and be able to communicate on a larger scale with those who are in the “looking zone.”

    • LOL,, “evangelical” is definitely an appropriate word to describe it.

Whatever the system, tool, or even the MLM,,, people go NUTS talking about it like it’s their savior. In reality they’re all just starting points and stepping stones to building a bigger business.

      • Yeah, you got that right! I’m pretty tired of everything being talked about as if it’s a “savior,” as you put it. That’s just silliness and ignorance on display…not to mention, in some cases just blatant dishonesty.

I think your comparison to this being more like “stepping stones to building a bigger business” is entirely more accurate.

        • It drives me batshit crazy to hear “join an MLM and be an entrepreneur” or “be your own boss” or “own your own business” ,,, puh-lease…. we’re just glorified Independent Contractors when we get started in this…. it’s just the beginning to what’s possible. Real business ownership happens when people realize that MLM and marketing programs and affiliate products are all just entry points into entrepreneurship and then we take our experience from that and grow it into something bigger. Possibilities are endless,,, once people grow into the “big boss pants” LOL… but if people don’t do the starting points right and one at a time they find themselves fighting to stay above the water.
