MLM “Part Timer” Eaten By MLM Entrepreneur!
This is for all the “part timers” in Network Marketing that are out there.
I’m not talking about the ones that work part time in the sense that they only have a few part time hours to devote to their business. This isn’t for the marketers that are working every moment they can spare around their current job and situations.
I commend those of you who are starting out and rearranging your job and family schedule to work on your business.
This message is for the part timers that are only partly involved in their business.
Those that are just going to “try” Network Marketing.
And those that haven’t proclaimed their profession as a Network Marketer.
For those of you that are in this category, you are going to fail.
Because those that have taken ownership and are DOING instead of “trying”,,, are going to walk all over you.
They’re going to eat you up for breakfast and pick you out of their teeth before lunch.
Here’s a story to illustrate: One of my friends and teammates in Network Marketing told me how he calls other marketers that he comes across with their phone number listed on their website. He does this just to begin a dialogue and open up a relationship.
(Now that’s a sign of a professional marketer, picking up the phone!)
He called this fellow marketer and the response he received was more than disappointing.
First, he asked if it was a good time for them to talk.
They responded with “What do YOU want”.
Second, he asked to talk about the info on her website.
They responded with “What website?”
This only sounds like an exaggeration. 90% of the marketers I call are shocked to get a call from someone they don’t know and all of them are confused about how I got their phone number or other form of contact information.
Those are the “part timers”. I can pick them as soon as they answer the phone.
When I call another marketer and they answer like a terrified 6 year old with a meek “hello?” I know they are a “part timer”.
Is that how a business owner answers the phone?
In the age of caller ID most of us know if the call we are receiving is from someone we already know or not. I never answer the phone casually if it the call is from a business partner, a prospect, or someone I don’t know.
But then again, I’m not a “part timer”.
Are you?
