You think I’m joking.

But I think after I finish writing this I’m going to be locked up in the looney bin… for good.

I have recently lost my mind and totally flipped out over all the crap I see on the internet.

I love the internet, I think it’s cool. I’ve met some really awesome marketers. I also sponsored some of the people I’ve met online into Numis. I like putting together my blog, syndicating content and learning new online marketing skills.

Technically I could be called an “Internet Marketer”.

With what I see happening on the internet,,, I’m not sure I want to be lumped in with what most of the other internet marketers are doing.

When I look at who I’ve met online for internet marketers, only a very rare few work with real integrity, they aren’t hypey, and they aren’t shoving every new product launch down people’s throats.

honeycomb I Finally Lost My Damn Mind: Hugging Myself In A White Jacket On My Way To The Padded Room For Network MarketersIt’s that kind of crap that the majority does online that has disgusted me with internet marketing and I pretty much flipped out and lost it this week.

I am so against what the majority of internet marketers are doing that I feel dirty being called an internet marketer.

Actually I started doing the opposite of a lot of marketers last year when I quit promoting MLSP out front of my primary company (I stayed a member, I just don’t promote the product out front of everything I’m doing anymore.)

The Reasons For My Insanity:

candymountain I Finally Lost My Damn Mind: Hugging Myself In A White Jacket On My Way To The Padded Room For Network MarketersAffiliate Marketing – The ways of the internet teach to be promoting affiliate products within a sales funnel to pre-qualify people for your primary business. Decent concept, except too many people get hung up on selling affiliate products that they lose focus on their primary business. They hide their primary business behind a wall of affiliate products scattered throughout a funnel put together by a marketing system.

I like marketing systems for educational purposes. But long term there becomes a need to break away from the generic-ness of it and do your own thing.

So when it comes to marketing there needs to be a decision. Are you going to be an affiliate marketer? Or a Network Marketer? It’s possible to do both. But it’s extremely difficult and requires laser focus. The affiliate products have to serve the purpose of how to build an MLM. Or else you look like a jack of all trades idiot marketing the latest crap to hit the market just so you can make a quick buck. I could rant on this for a long time.

Congratulations. Now what you going to do? Oh yeah, that’s right, learn how to generate 1,682 leads per day on autopilot and never call a single one of them and cross your fingers and hope that they join your primary MLM…. Not gonna happen.

This is why people promote the hell out of whatever is new in hopes of making money off of their list. Because instead of engaging in a real relationship with people,,, internet marketers are just on the quest for a massive list to blast with crap.

My experience and that of others marketing online,,, it takes about 6-12 months for someone to join your primary company without talking to them directly. The first time I had someone join my business on autopilot it was at the lower package and they quit shortly after to join the next big thing they came across online.

When it comes to selling affiliate products, it’s usually small time “quick money” and doesn’t last long term (unless it’s a membership) so you have to be back out there promoting more crap. (by the way,,, it takes just as much effort to make a large sale as it does to make a small sale.)  The people that I actually spoke to that found me online (I usually spoke to them before they opted in,,, tell you about that in a minute) signed up with me within a few days for the initial contact.

Online marketing is like a supplement to “old school” not a replacement for it. The personal relationships developed through old school methods create longer lasting downlines because there’s a bond that is formed and people will stick around and trust you more.

There’s some good news. We can bring the old school methods to the online world. I know, I’ve done it. In my posts, videos and live webinars that I do I give people the call to action to contact me. Either via email or to just call me. This is how I am able to talk to people before they even opt in to my site.

sedativewearoff I Finally Lost My Damn Mind: Hugging Myself In A White Jacket On My Way To The Padded Room For Network MarketersInternet marketers think I need to be medicated or locked away now, some are starting to get it though, but for the most part people think I’m full of it.

None of them believe that I can talk to people BEFORE they opt in to anything I have out there.

Well I’ve found a way,,, and so far,,, it works.

Here’s what I do and believe instead. Because I create a call to action for people to contact me I am immediately pre-qualifying people. And I’m not treating them like just another lead on a list. They’re being treated like real people, and because they took the initiative to contact me they are showing that they are take-action kind of people. Which is exactly who I like to work with.

Since I’m not adding them to my “list” first they know they aren’t going to get their email inbox full of every latest product launch. Therefore there’s immediate trust built, and there’s respect for me taking the extra step to connect with them personally.

rabbids I Finally Lost My Damn Mind: Hugging Myself In A White Jacket On My Way To The Padded Room For Network MarketersThis might not make me crazy, but it makes me different from other internet marketers. But in this world of marketing it’s the one that stands out as being different & bold that is the most successful and is found the most because people are seeking out someone that doesn’t just go with the flow and blends in with the mainstream. People want someone that speaks their beliefs with conviction.

And my beliefs are that the internet has become impersonal, over-hyped, and full of a bunch of wannabe’s pretending that they are experts in something they are not and they’re promoting a pile of crap for affiliate products and claiming to have the magical answer that will earn you $1,000 today for doing absolutely nothing. (In fact, my friend Ben recorded one of these wannabe experts and posted the audio on the internet,,, Click Here and listen to it.) I believe there are too many Internet marketers leading people astray. And I know I’m not the only that believes this.

There are some internet marketers that I’ve come across that operate with class and only promote what is high quality. But you’ve got to look for them amongst all the fakes and lost marketers that are marketing out of desperation to make a quick buck. The longer you are in this industry the easier it is to tell the difference between the two. Just look at how often they change what they are marketing. The ones that change their products the least and are consistent with the core purpose of the product they promote are the ones that will outlast everyone else every time.
