Up front I should say that I am not part of Jay Kubassek’s business CarbonCopyPRO. Nothing against Jay or the incredible system he has put together. I use a different system because CarbonCopyPRO just wasn’t the right fit for me.
But I have immense respect for Jay Kubassek and have learned more from his example than from anyone else involved in network marketing. Jay is someone with unbelievable integrity and has a greater vision in life than just making money.
The most commonly found vision of Jay that is found on the internet is his dedication to help create 100 millionaires by 2012. In fact he has stated that he will settle for no less than 100 millionaires. His intention is not to create money hungry millionaires, but ones with integrity, dignity and vision.
1. Be a person of value. Jay asks the question “What do I offer society that is worth a million dollars?” This really sticks with me because if I’m not giving anything to society that is of value then I don’t deserve to receive anything in return. Most people go through life as “consumers” yet they feel entitled. Give value to the world and it will give to you in return.
2. Be passionate about what you are doing. This goes hand in hand with intent and integrity. If your intent is only to make a buttload of money without providing anything of worth to people then just forget about being successful. The people that are truly passionate about what they are doing make the greatest amount of money. I’m sure Donald Trump appreciates having his money, but his first love is Real Estate. Read his book “The Art of The Comeback” and you can see that he was more in love with the buildings of New York and keeping them true to their architectural beauty than he was with making millions off of them. He made millions because he didn’t make deals just for a quick buck, he worked with integrity and passion.
3. Know what you are worth and don’t settle for any less until you get it. Don’t be happy to take whatever you are given. Set an amount that your time and talents are worth and don’t stop til you get there. Jay also taught that once you reach that amount; don’t be happy there either. Raise the bar. You made it that far, so keep going.
4. Put a time limit on it. The greatest plays made in sports are during the last few minutes. People do great work under pressure. Don’t work with the thought of “someday”. Put a date on it. Declare what you are going to accomplish and when. Make it final and expect it to happen.
5. Think like a millionaire. This isn’t as easy as it sounds. It doesn’t mean that you sit around thinking about buying cool stuff and rolling around in piles of money. It means to stop listening to the people around you that aren’t millionaires. Are you seriously going to take advice on how to make money from someone that has none? Didn’t think so. Make a commitment to success and focus on your vision of what success is.
I have tremendous respect for Jay Kubassek and what he is doing. By his example I learned how to be a person of value that has integrity in everything I do. I am someone that is psychologically unemployable because I have put a dollar amount on myself that no employer could ever compete with. This is what I was taught by a guy that used to sell mufflers at Midas.
So, what are you worth?

Myth #1 Entrepreneurs are born, not made.
This myth is based on the belief that some people are genetically predisposed to be an entrepreneur. I’m not a geneticist, and I can’t deny that there are some things in our genes that make us predisposed for certain advantages and disadvantages in life. But we are also born with the ability to overcome our disadvantages. I have some friends point out to me that both my parents have owned their own businesses so this myth must be true. I have to remind them I was adopted. You don’t have to believe me though, look at this video about Patrick Hughes before you make an argument about genetics as a reason people are held back in life.
Myth #2 – Entrepreneurs are gamblers
Entrepreneurs are moderate risk takers, but so are most people. When you are gambling you have little to no control over the outcome. A business is not a slot machine. It is a thought out plan that is put to the test and can be tweaked and altered to fit into the current market. The entrepreneurs that are taking a gamble are those that don’t do their homework first and just decide to wing it.
Myth #3 – Entrepreneurs are only motivated by money.
Of course money is a motive, but if that was the only motive they wouldn’t get too far. They also must possess a passion for business, and a belief that the business will positively influence people’s lives. Without a bigger goal than money an entrepreneur will fail. There must be a focus on being a productive person and providing value to society. Without this focus people will not care and totally ignore the entrepreneur that only focuses on making money.
Myth #4 – Entrepreneurs need to be young.
Younger people are showing a growing interest in being entrepreneurs, but the entrepreneurs that show the greatest success the fastest are older. This is because they possess more business experience, skill and time has given them the opportunity to build up a bigger network of contacts. Enthusiasm is more important in age in the entrepreneur game.
Myth #5 – Need money to make money.
To start a large business or a franchise, YES, you need money. To become an investor you need to also have money. But if this were true for all entrepreneurs there wouldn’t be any businesses. People aren’t born with a stack of Benjamins in each hand. And there are just as many people that are born into rich families become failures and waste their family fortune as there are people who are born into rich families that become successful business owners. Go back to Myth #1 and think about overcoming disadvantages.
These myths don’t apply just to MLM, this is for ANY entrepreneur going into any business. It’s not about money, or a feeling of what we believe we are entitled to, it’s not about luck, it’s not about getting a break, it’s about having an unrelenting tenacity to be a success.
Failure rate for entrepreneurs is naturally high because most are trying something that is new to them. They are learning along the way. There is an element of experimentation to find what works for each individual. The ingredient that all successful entrepreneurs have is the determination to succeed.

I believe the word value to mean an item, principle, standard, good or service considered worthwhile or desirable. It disgusts me to see the words “value menu” on fast food menus advertising their cheapest items. Since when is value cheap? Just call it what it is, the cheap menu. The item you are purchasing is of no real value anyway, it too is also cheap.
So my thoughts today are about a question for you. What types of training and tools are you purchasing for your MLM growth? Are you willing to invest in materials to better yourself as and entrepreneur? Are you doing research on tools that will help you gain real knowledge? Are you seeking educational and training videos and content that has real VALUE?
The 7 figure earners in this industry understand the value of their knowledge and education and have spent thousands of dollars on their personal development.
They didn’t have the means to purchase this knowledge when they started. But they sought out information that was still valuable. Relying solely on information given to you by your upline or your MLM company is not sufficient. This is like the “cheap menu”, it gets you by for awhile, but no one wants to eat of the “cheap menu” everyday.
Taking in knowledge from other sources will form you as an individual and make you stand out from the pack in your company.
You can gain this knowledge from books such as “How To Win Friends and Influence People”, “Think and Grow Rich”, “Rich Dad Poor Dad”, and “7 Habits of Highly Effective People”. You can buy used copies of these books online or get them at the library.
Get your hands on books about direct response marketing, networking, personal development, effective speaking, and anything else you can find to make yourself a more effective marketer.
There are also great resources and information available online for MLM marketers. Specifically Magnetic Sponsoring by Mike Dillard has become a top selling MLM training book. MLSP created by Norbert Orlewicz, Brian Fanale and Todd Schlomer, has become an advanced system for providing training for you and your distributors while also serving as a lead generator.
The top earners have invested thousands in their education and that is why they are in their position. With over 90% of marketers failing in this industry I can tell you that it is not because their “why” isn’t big enough, it’s because their knowledge isn’t.
Don’t get discouraged by the vast amount that the leaders have spent on seminars, books and courses. You don’t have to spend that much to start making money in your business. They certainly didn’t start out spending thousands. Everyone had to start somewhere.
You can start by choosing one book for bettering you and your business and read it for 15 minutes a day, everyday. This alone will put you ahead of those who are failing in this industry because you are taking steps to get ahead.
There are so many people that are lost in the MLM industry that the good news for you is that it does not take that much effort for you to stand out among them. Many are not going to do what is necessary to make their business grow. If you are willing to take the initiative to educate yourself you are already doing more than what those who are failing are willing to do.
Most don’t believe that personal development will help their business. But think of this, as an employee completes more training for their job they become more valuable to the company and therefore receive a pay raise. As an entrepreneur gains more knowledge they in turn share that information with other marketers, they become more valuable to others. As our value increases as entrepreneurs we see an increase in what receive back.
Without being of any value to society we cannot expect society to return any value to us. More simply put, you must give in order to receive.

Whenever I start a new exercise plan I always want immediate results. Don’t we all? Our common sense tells us that it takes work and that we have to stick to it and see it through for a few months before we can get noticeable results.
So why aren’t you putting that same theory into your MLM business? Out of the people I talk to that are struggling the number one thing they all have in common is that they don’t stick with anything long enough to see the results.
There are two things that they change in the hopes of getting better results, and those are the last two things that should be changed.
1. The Company – People jump from one MLM company to another like they are running for their lives. STOP IT!!!! Each company has new products and compensation plans to learn and each team has it’s own way of communicating and working together. If you aren’t sticking around long enough to get your groove on in that company, then of course you aren’t going to be successful in it! If you find yourself in a company or team that is going against your principles or you are embarrassed to be a part of it or you aren’t comfortable promoting it, then by all means get out. But do your homework before you join another one. You need to be in a company that you feel good about and makes you feel good enough to go sponsor your Grandma.
2. Marketing – There are many different mediums to marketing such as Pay Per Click, Viral email, article marketing, social media, blogging, classifieds, lead lists, home meetings and contacting friends and family. The problem is new MLM’ers will dabble in one for a few weeks and when they don’t see results they move on to another form of marketing. Each form of marketing takes some time to master it and to build up a network of relationships.
If you really want to change something that will bring success to your MLM, then start changing yourself. Analyze yourself and figure out what it takes to motivate yourself to focus and see one plan through to the results. Take a the time to do some research and find a company that resonates with your opinions, goals, mindset and mission in life. Then find the form of marketing that you feel natural and comfortable with. If you are trying to market and reach out to people in a way that doesn’t feel good to you then you aren’t going to stick with it.
Find your zone and get your groove on, focus and perfect your strategy until you see the results you want.
Now, does anyone know the latest exercise craze? The one I’m doing isn’t working.

There are going to be three types of people you sponsor into your MLM business.
1. Get Rich Quick – These are the ones that are so enthusiastic to get started that it’s almost scary. The problem is, when they see that there is work involved and that they can’t just make millions reading junk emails in their pajamas, they are gone. This person will quit within a month.
2. Try It – I picture this one as the person at the pool who keeps putting their feet in the water to test the temperature. They just won’t commit and jump in and swim. They eventually might make it into the shallow end of the pool, but they keep trying out all the cool floating toys and gimmicks. They don’t stick to one thing and see it through and make it work. They’re outta there in 1-3 months.
3. Hungry – These people want success so bad they can taste it. They have the drive to stick with something until it works. They find ways to bend things to work for them. There is no finish line for this person because they keep raising their level of success.
The person you want to sponsor is someone that has passion and gives their full effort into whatever they do. They project confidence and can instill it in others. Visualizing success is second nature for them. They are not afraid of putting out effort and doing real work.
Not only do they set goals but they can create a clear vision and plan for reaching their goals. Without a vision and a plan a goal is just wishful thinking.
There is something within them that is driving them to remain dedicated.
Above all, they eliminate excuses.
This is not just a list of what you need to be looking for when you are qualifying your leads. This is what you need to find in yourself in order to make you be a success.

Could Failure Be The Key To Success?
I just love how everyone in MLM is such a huge success. Oh, wait, that’s right they’re not. 97% of people fail in MLM. So why are there so many people advertising see how I made $blah $blah in MLM?
Because they are trying to sell a dream and appeal to the inner greedy desires of people. Having only the desire for money isn’t going to bring you long lasting success in this industry. So anyone using this type of marketing isn’t going to attract long lasting quality prospects to their MLM. Also, the FTC will send you a nice big fine for using income claims in your advertising.
I believe this is the worst type of MLM advertising for another reason. It sounds like bragging. So many people fail in the beginning of this business and I’ve found the ones that are now doing the best in this business share their stories of failure. They also share their story of success, but they don’t throw around dollar amounts.
It’s boastful and they also know that their prospects don’t find it believable. When something sounds too good to be true our instincts tell us to believe that it isn’t true.
So why are so many marketers making these hugeass income claims? It really blows my mind. The biggest lessons we learn in life we learn as a result of our failures. What is to be gained in a series of successes? If you’ve never felt the humbling experience of defeat how are you to truly appreciate the feeling of success?
There are enough marketing fanatics out there exaggerating their best month or week in their business. They hype their income claims without stating expenses. They inflate their lead list claims, never mentioning how many people unsubscribe.
The real experts with real success aren’t afraid to talk about their failures, the stupid things they did, or how much it sucked for them when they started in MLM. They tend to brag about it more, because it’s a real story that people can relate to.
The bigger the failures in someone’s past the bigger their success story becomes. Even if their success is small, if there was some huge obstacle they had to overcome to get it, it makes it all that much more of a sweet success.
I personally don’t feel there is much to learn or gain from someone who has had nothing but a string of successes. There is more character and wisdom in the person who has had to fight for what they have.

It’s exciting to join and MLM. You see an amazing presentation. You think, “I can do that.” So you decide to go for it. You can always quit and cut your losses right?
Let me tell you a story and see if you can relate. I had just finished reading Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad Poor Dad when I came across an ad to work from home. I put in my info and watched a webcast. It looked like a no brainer. So I joined.
The best part of joining was that I would receive full training and support from my team. Then like so many other newbie internet marketers, I waited for the training. Guess what? I never got it.
I take full responsibility, because I never asked for it. What I hadn’t realized yet was that this was not a job that I reported to a boss for. I ran this myself, it was up to me to go out and get what I needed.
So, after I got mad and quit I started looking for a business that really would give me the training I needed. Along the way I learned a secret about being an entrepreneur. It meant that my success was up to me.
This time when I found a company that I clicked with I went into it with all I had. They also offered training and support, but this time instead of waiting for it I asked for it.
This made all the difference. Your sponsor may want to see you succeed, but they aren’t going to chase you down to make sure you do it. You need to approach them and show that you are worthy of their time and attention.
Your sponsor does not know your desires unless you make them known. They also do not know your potential until you show it.
Think of this, which student succeeds? The one sitting in the back of the classroom or the one in front with their hand raised asking questions? Which student gets the most attention? The one asking the questions, of course. They are demanding it just by being and active participant. This doesn’t mean they need the most attention, or that they deserve it either. But they are going to get it because they asked and approached the person with the knowledge.
The amazing thing about this business is that you have more than one person with the knowledge you need to succeed available to you. You do not need to rely solely on the person who sponsored you. You have an entire upline you can go to. In fact, you should know at least 2 people that are above your sponsor and feel comfortable approaching them for help. Asking someone for their advice is flattering. So don’t be afraid to ask.
Remember, your success will also help them succeed, so there is no reason why they wouldn’t want to help you.
Don’t underestimate the power of the internet with websites and blogs available to help with every aspect of MLM and Network Marketing. You can search for the answers to anything. You can start with the search box on this blog

If you are like most beginner entrepreneurs you spent a lot of time planning. Then after you plan out your business you planned how you were going to run your business. Then you planned how you were going to set up your office. Then you planned when you were going to work. Then you planned some more.
You are in desperate need of action. But so many beginners will sit and over plan, thinking of how to get started, and take so much time getting ready, that they never start. Planning only takes you so far, and then you reach what runners call “hitting the wall”, or what writers call “writers block”.
You’ve made the struggle to get to the point of taking action. Now you need that push to get you over the edge and into action.
Here are 3 steps to jump into action.
1. Set a goal
2. Determine what needs to be done to accomplish that goal.
3. Set a time limit that you will reach that goal.
Then take action.
Yes it’s really that simple. Just start.
Do not spend time thinking about how you are going to do everything. Just start doing. If you pause, procrastination will take over and failure will win. You certainly wouldn’t win a marathon if you stood at the starting line thinking of the route to the finish line. In fact, you wouldn’t even finish it.
Taking action is so critical that if you do nothing once you reach the action point, you might as well go back to your old job and do what your boss tells you.
Getting past the first element of fear that holds us from action is exhilarating. The feeling of accomplishment will grow with each step. It builds up within you and creates momentum to tackle even larger projects.
You don’t need to see the entire staircase to make it to the top, you just need to take the first step.

Being a 9 to 5er is not a popular idea of fun. The word entrepreneur is flashy and exciting. Working for yourself has great appeal because you no longer report to a boss (or several bosses), you aren’t stuck with their schedule and best of all you aren’t worried about downsizing, or worse the business closing.
Making the change to becoming an entrepreneur is an easy choice. We can quickly call ourselves an entrepreneur. Then we have to choose what we are going to do. Do you have a skill that you can market to the world? Or have you found a company that you can utilize as a platform to launch your entrepreneurship. Then comes the hard part. You know what you are going to do. But now you have to do it.
There is an element of fear that holds all of us from taking action. This is where you can insert a cliché about the cream rising to the top, or sorting out the tire kickers, or you name it.
You have to mentally move from your years of training and “brainwashing” as an employee and erase all of that type of thinking. Not getting past this obstacle is the number one reason for failure.
Working as an employee is easy. Your hours are set for you. Someone else assigns your tasks. Sometimes these tasks are even scheduled in your day for you. It’s a model of work that you plug into, expectations are set for you, and all you have to do is perform and produce results.
Working as an entrepreneur is difficult. You call the shots, you set the hours, and you outline the tasks and their schedule. You are now swimming in a wave of options without a life preserver.
You are at a point where you answer to no one but yourself. Being your own boss takes self discipline. Ask yourself this: When your boss asked you do something by a deadline, did you make arrangements and sacrifices to get it done? Did you do it out of fear of losing your job? To keep from getting fired? To gain a raise?
These same thoughts you had towards your boss now need to be applied to yourself. Are you worth the same respect your boss was worth? Will you sacrifice to get work done for yourself? Will you make other arrangements? Will you work to keep your business? Will you work to earn the money you are worth?
What if you worked as hard for yourself as you worked for your boss? You can take your prior work ethic and apply it to working for yourself. What were you willing to do for your paycheck? What now are you willing to do for your own wealth?
You once worked hard for someone else, now you must work hard for yourself. If someone else was worthy of your efforts, surely you are even more worthy.
