This may have happened to you and you aren’t even aware of it. A staggering amount of Americans have fallen for this scam. Those that are trapped in the snare of this scam have no clue it exists and therefore don’t know how to get themselves out of the trap they are in.

Worse yet, when confronted with the scam people deny that there is a way out and that they are even caught up in a scam. The scam is that good. The scam has brainwashed people that well. Chances are you have fallen for this scam because you were presented with it a vulnerable time in your life and you felt it was your only hope. Since it is likely that you have fallen for it then chances are you have been brainwashed by it, and will most likely deny that it is a scam.

It is hard to say who first fell for the scam or who invented it. That is how long it has been around and it further proves how effective the scam is. Although I do not know the historical origins of the scam, I can outline how it works.

It starts with a company that has a brilliant product idea. The owners of the company believe that the marketplace cannot live without this product. However, the business owner cannot possibly distribute his exceptional product to the world on his own. He must recruit others to do that for him.

So the business owner takes his new recruits and begins to sell his fantastic product to the masses. As his product reaches the public the demand for the product increases and he must recruit new distributors for his fantastic product. He promotes his top producing distributors and turns them into recruiters as well.

More people join under the businessman. The businessman can now sit back and watch all of the recruits doing all the work. The recruits work their little butts off with little reward except for the occasional pat on the head and a little plaque that says “good job”. The recruits create a life full of debt and stress for themselves working hard to create a big profit for the businessman that sits at the top of the company reaping all the benefits of those doing all the work down the long line of recruits below.

The scam that has been created allows the few people at the top to make money and provide a rich lifestyle for their families. The people that are doing the hardest and dirtiest work at the bottom of the scheme have no chance at an opportunity to reach the level of those at the top. There is no room for them to advance. And those that got in at the top are the only ones making any money.

You might know one of these people at the bottom of the scheme. In fact you probably are one, and you don’t even know it. They have a special name for the millions of people that are stuck in the bottom of this scheme. EMPLOYEE.

The EMPLOYEE is stuck as a prisoner for 30 to 40 years working for the company that makes the owner rich. Then as a reward at the end they get to retire and be broke. It’s the biggest scam in history. And I’m sorry to say that the statistics aren’t in your favor, and that you are probably one of the millions that have been duped by this scam.

It is my sincere apologies that you were suckered in while you were at your most vulnerable and still a child. It is a shame that the people you trusted most, your parents and teachers, exposed you to this scam. I’m sure they told you for years to get a good education so you could get a good job.

There is still good news. Because you are now being exposed to this scam you have a chance. You now have an opportunity to get out of the scheme and take charge. You can leave behind your status as employee and change it in for ENTREPRENEUR.

The idea that Narc That Car is an MLM Network Marketing opportunity makes my mind go blank, and a little numb. The only words I can think are “What the ????” Narc That Car is an example of just how crazy our world is. I might be ranting a bit here, but I’m feeling adamant.

The idea of the Narc That Car opportunity is for members of this MLM to document the location of vehicle license plate numbers. They get to be active members of the stalkerazzi and big brother. The information that they gather is then for sale. The plate number can be searched and then the location can be known by purchasing the logged information.

The benefit of placing this information for sale through Narc That Car is for lien holders to be able to locate the collateral vehicle on a defaulted loan. Another benefit is to help law enforcement in tracking offenders, people who have skipped bail or have not reported to probation/parole. What really sells people on the idea is using Narc That Car in conjunction with Amber Alert.

What this means for the law abiding typical citizen is that if there are Narc That Car members in your area, then your daily activities are going to be on sale for the world to purchase. Your driving habits will be known to anyone willing to pay for it. My guess is there are more predators willing to pay for this info than there are law enforcement agencies and lien holders. That’s creepy.

Do you stop to check your PO Box at the same time everyday? What about stopping to pick up a coffee? Rent a video? Pick up a prescription or dry cleaning? Do you leave your car running? Do you leave your child in the car? It’s only for a minute right? If there is a Narc That Car member in your area, these habits of yours are possibly logged on their website. Anyone looking to target you away from home is going to have an easy time of it. They don’t have to risk being seen following you, they can just pay for it!

And someone is getting paid to do provide this information.

Looking at Narc That Car shows that it is a legit way to make money. It’s not really an invasion of privacy since your vehicle is out in public for anyone to see.

It doesn’t seem like a very profitable way to make money though. For every minimum 10 license plates a member inputs per month they receive $25 – $75 compensation. There are promotional bonuses as a member signs up other Narc That Car members and teaches them how to be a Narc. As members work their way up in manager status they see larger commissions. When a Narc signs up a client (someone who purchases and uses the Narc info) they also receive compensation.

I don’t like to bash on MLM companies. I support the idea of commissioned sales. If there is a product I need or want and I can get it through direct sales, I do. I’m a supporter of marketers in other companies because I believe in this industry and I like to see an MLM distributor make a commission off of a sale rather than a massive corporate conglomerate. It’s rare that I come across an MLM opportunity that I cannot and will not support.

If you are looking to join the MLM industry ask yourself these two questions about every opportunity you find:

1. Does the company make me feel good and am I proud to support and sell the product?

2. Will I have access to marketing training?

Up front I should say that I am not part of Jay Kubassek’s business CarbonCopyPRO. Nothing against Jay or the incredible system he has put together. I use a different system because CarbonCopyPRO just wasn’t the right fit for me.

But I have immense respect for Jay Kubassek and have learned more from his example than from anyone else involved in network marketing. Jay is someone with unbelievable integrity and has a greater vision in life than just making money.

The most commonly found vision of Jay that is found on the internet is his dedication to help create 100 millionaires by 2012. In fact he has stated that he will settle for no less than 100 millionaires. His intention is not to create money hungry millionaires, but ones with integrity, dignity and vision.

1. Be a person of value. Jay asks the question “What do I offer society that is worth a million dollars?” This really sticks with me because if I’m not giving anything to society that is of value then I don’t deserve to receive anything in return. Most people go through life as “consumers” yet they feel entitled. Give value to the world and it will give to you in return.

2. Be passionate about what you are doing. This goes hand in hand with intent and integrity. If your intent is only to make a buttload of money without providing anything of worth to people then just forget about being successful. The people that are truly passionate about what they are doing make the greatest amount of money. I’m sure Donald Trump appreciates having his money, but his first love is Real Estate. Read his book “The Art of The Comeback” and you can see that he was more in love with the buildings of New York and keeping them true to their architectural beauty than he was with making millions off of them. He made millions because he didn’t make deals just for a quick buck, he worked with integrity and passion.

3. Know what you are worth and don’t settle for any less until you get it. Don’t be happy to take whatever you are given. Set an amount that your time and talents are worth and don’t stop til you get there. Jay also taught that once you reach that amount; don’t be happy there either. Raise the bar. You made it that far, so keep going.

4. Put a time limit on it. The greatest plays made in sports are during the last few minutes. People do great work under pressure. Don’t work with the thought of “someday”. Put a date on it. Declare what you are going to accomplish and when. Make it final and expect it to happen.

5. Think like a millionaire. This isn’t as easy as it sounds. It doesn’t mean that you sit around thinking about buying cool stuff and rolling around in piles of money. It means to stop listening to the people around you that aren’t millionaires. Are you seriously going to take advice on how to make money from someone that has none? Didn’t think so. Make a commitment to success and focus on your vision of what success is.

I have tremendous respect for Jay Kubassek and what he is doing. By his example I learned how to be a person of value that has integrity in everything I do. I am someone that is psychologically unemployable because I have put a dollar amount on myself that no employer could ever compete with. This is what I was taught by a guy that used to sell mufflers at Midas.

It’s so rare to hear about anyone successfully building an MLM business offline. 30 years ago MLM was wild and growing and people were building downlines in the thousands. Building an offline MLM business was like taking an afternoon stroll. Doing it now is like running a marathon without training for it. It’s still possible, but you many are dying while trying.

So what is the real cause of this problem?

The internet.

Here’s why. Before the internet an excited MLM distributor would contact their friends and family and referrals that they got. They would show the business plan to them and they were the final authority on the information. Prospects could talk it over with their spouse, ask their friends about it, but there wasn’t any real place to get information about the MLM opportunity other than the person that gave them the information in the first place.

This was power for the MLM distributor, they were holding all the cards because where else was a prospect going to get info about the business plan? There was an information buffer zone and the prospects knew only what the distributor was telling them.

This allowed time for a relationship to build and the prospect to sign up in the business before they learned any of the negative aspects that there might be. Distributors were selling a dream and appealing to the wants and desires of their prospects. Anything about hard work or difficulties could be discussed later.

The distributor controlled what prospects learned before hand about the business opportunity. I’m not saying they were all a bunch of liars and deceivers. But anything they said about the business couldn’t be second guessed, verified or found to be untrue because there was no other source of information.

The decision to join a company or not was based solely on the information that the distributor gave to a prospect, therefore giving the distributor more control over the situation.

The internet changed all that. Google any MLM company and you will find thousands of results. The information is overwhelming and some of it is contradicting.

Now after a business presentation for an MLM company is given, and a prospect says they need to think it over, the distributor giving the presentation can say goodbye to their prospect. They won’t be back. They are going to google the opportunity, find all the overwhelming and contradicting information and they are gone.

If after seeing all of the info they still end up joining an MLM, it won’t be with the person that gave them the presentation, it will be with someone they found on the internet that stood out above all the rest. The person that gave powerful truthful information. They might not even be in the same MLM company.

That is why traditional methods of MLM are dying. The information age brought on by the internet is killing it. It’s also killing internet marketing.

That’s because the little guys on the internet are putting out just enough info to spark an interest about MLM in people. Once their interest is peaked they begin to Google the MLM opportunity. They run into the same information an offline prospect would find. They also find a leader in the industry and end up joining with them.

So how do we overcome this? One common solution that marketers offer is to present yourself as an expert. Problem is that everyone thinks they are the expert. It’s no big deal anymore to present yourself as an expert because everyone else is doing it.

A better solution is not just being an expert, but to give full up front disclosure about MLM and how the industry works. Tell prospects the truths that everyone else holds back. Give the good the bad and the ugly info all at once.

It is commonly thought that people are stupid and that they can’t handle full disclosure about anything. Here’s a news flash, people are smart, they need the right information to make a legitimate decision. I’d rather have someone say no to my MLM opportunity because they made an educated decision than to have someone say yes and not know what they are saying yes to.

Contrary to what many marketers advertise, offline methods still work. The offline methods of marketing use personal contacts from family, friends and business contacts from work, this is called the “warm market”. You get in touch with these people to make presentations to and you will get some sign ups.

Some people have very many connections with people around them and that is why they become successful offline and that is why these methods still work. The people that can make this work have had years of building up contacts through other means and have a large network of people that they know.

The person that has built their network of business associates and friends combined with effective communication skills can dominate and sponsor a lot of people through offline methods.

But that isn’t the case for all marketers using offline methods. So what happens to the marketer that hasn’t worked in a setting that put him in a position of influence with their contacts. What happens when you run out of people to talk to? What happens if you haven’t lived somewhere very long and you don’t know anyone?

This problem has made the internet a very popular place for MLM. More marketers are turning to online methods because they don’t feel comfortable with approaching their friends and family, or they just don’t have a large enough contact list.

The marketers that have been using offline methods have been transitioning to online marketing, but the problem is that methods used for each are different.

Old style MLM sponsors help their downline set goals for showing the business opportunity to about 10-20 people per month. Showing a business plan in traditional methods involve either putting together a presentation for a one on one sit down, a home party where someone invites guests for you to show to, or even as big as doing a presentation in a hotel conference room. However, in all of these forms of presentations the marketer must be physically present. It is draining and time consuming and is not a very effective form of presenting the MLM business opportunity.

New style methods using the internet have goals of showing presentations to 10-20 people per DAY, not month. Old school marketers that are used to making in person presentations are skeptical at first and don’t see how this works.

The first MLM team I ever joined was started by a married couple that had had success using offline methods. They brought their experience for building teams in a traditional setting and were trying to bring their business to the internet.

They took the concept of presenting the business in a person to person setting and just moved it over into the form of a “live webcast”. There may be 10-20 people in that webcast, but they were not invited there by just one person. The webcast is hosted by a team leader and members of the downline invite their one prospect for the day to view the webcast.

It didn’t take me long to realize that this really wasn’t any different than dragging my friends to a hotel meeting and this just wasn’t what I wanted to do. I got very lucky and came across an MLM training system that taught me what real internet marketing was all about.

Successful internet marketers are reaching and presenting their business to a minimum of 20 people per day. That is 20 people per day that ONE marketer is reaching on the internet. If you haven’t had any success with marketing online or you are coming from traditional methods this isn’t easy to get your head around at first. The internet is that powerful when it comes to marketing.

The only way to create this amount of presentations in a day is through an internet marketing system. A system allows for prospects to learn about your MLM opportunity through an automated process 24 hours a day.

I have used two different systems that operate to drive traffic and leads to your primary business. A marketing system is a tool, not an actual MLM company. But without a system in place the exposure of prospects to your MLM business is going to be minimal. Out of the two different systems I have used for marketing online by far the best I have come across is MLSP.

MLSP is a lead generation tool with step by step video instruction on set up and usage so that even an internet novice can have it up and running in a day and start putting it to use. Even more impressive is the hours of training available on mastering internet marketing strategies with new training being added every week.

MLSP works for you as a promotional tool for your primary company. Once you set up this animal of a marketing machine it is placing a means of marketing your company out on the internet that operates on a 24 hour basis.

MLSP has quickly become the top recommended marketing system for MLM. The results of what an automated system can do for you MLM company is beyond the limits of what can be covered in just one post.

When joining an MLM business you are joining with more than just the company. Yes, the company that you are joining needs to be aligned with your beliefs and values, but this is a business of people. You also need to evaluate the sponsor you are choosing.

A lot of people in an MLM business are brought in by a friend or family member as their sponsor. This can be a lot of fun because you are working close with someone you know well, but the downside is that your friends and family may not be qualified to train you on how to run your business because they too may be in the learning stages. This can be a great journey for the both of you, but if you want to skip the headache of learning together you can do some sponsor shopping.

The person that sponsors you into their MLM opportunity isn’t someone that just disappears after they get your money. At least they shouldn’t be. They will be training you on how to market and run your own MLM business.

The 4 qualifications of an MLM sponsor:

1. Committed to your success. The sponsor that is committed to your success in your MLM opportunity is going to give you training and valuable information before you even sign up with them. Your sponsor will want you to be educated on the basics of MLM and knowledgeable before joining the opportunity so that you will be able to jump right in and get started. You can recognize their commitment through their training emails their newsletters and information they have posted for you on their blog.

2. Training outside of what the primary MLM company has to offer. The really good MLM companies have access on their website to train distributors. But the really exceptional MLM sponsors have found other resources that they can tap you into for further MLM training.

3. Their marketing method. Sponsors use the form of advertising for their MLM opportunity that they know how to use the best and the one that they feel the most natural doing. It can be videos, articles, PPC, social media or any single use or combination of a number of methods. Whatever they use is also the form of marketing that they are going to be best at training you in. Your sponsor may know how to utilize other forms of marketing, but they are going to be the most knowledgeable and up to date in the form they use the most. So if you aren’t going to be comfortable using the same marketing tactics that your sponsor is using, then it may not be the best sponsor for you.

4. Their personality. There are so many different types of people in the world. Some of those people we like, others not so much. Obviously the sponsor you choose is going to be someone you like, but it also needs to be someone that you feel comfortable asking questions. Don’t end up sitting in the dark because you feel awkward approaching your sponsor with a question.

If you are choosing to work your MLM business online then it seem logical that you would choose your sponsor through the internet. This is not a choice that should be made quickly so be prepared to take at least a few days to a few weeks to find a sponsor. During this time you should also be doing as much research and learning about MLM as possible so that you will well educated and ready to start when you find the sponsor you click with.

The 4 steps to finding an MLM sponsor that meets the 4 qualifications:

1. RSS. If they have a blog or video channel then subscribe to it. View their content that they put out. It should be valuable, educational and shows their personality.

2. Capture page. Opt in to their capture page. See what they have to offer, read their emails, view any training videos they send you, and get a feel for their style.

3. Do this for more than one. Sign up for several different MLM distributors content. As you find those that aren’t a fit, just unsubscribe from their lists. Narrow down through this process until you have found the right sponsor for you.

4. One final and crucial step in selecting a sponsor, get on the phone with them! You are going to have to stand out to the person sponsoring you. They are going to want to test you out as well and be sure that they are sponsoring someone that isn’t going to be wasting their time and training. Show them your dedication, and by speaking with them after going through the above process you will be an educated prospect. You will know if they are the right sponsor for you, and they will know you are ready to get to work.

By following these steps you will ensure that you find the person that will help you succeed in your MLM business and they will shorten your learning time down to months instead of years.

Whenever I start a new exercise plan I always want immediate results. Don’t we all? Our common sense tells us that it takes work and that we have to stick to it and see it through for a few months before we can get noticeable results.

So why aren’t you putting that same theory into your MLM business? Out of the people I talk to that are struggling the number one thing they all have in common is that they don’t stick with anything long enough to see the results.

There are two things that they change in the hopes of getting better results, and those are the last two things that should be changed.

1. The Company – People jump from one MLM company to another like they are running for their lives. STOP IT!!!! Each company has new products and compensation plans to learn and each team has it’s own way of communicating and working together. If you aren’t sticking around long enough to get your groove on in that company, then of course you aren’t going to be successful in it! If you find yourself in a company or team that is going against your principles or you are embarrassed to be a part of it or you aren’t comfortable promoting it, then by all means get out. But do your homework before you join another one. You need to be in a company that you feel good about and makes you feel good enough to go sponsor your Grandma.

2. Marketing – There are many different mediums to marketing such as Pay Per Click, Viral email, article marketing, social media, blogging, classifieds, lead lists, home meetings and contacting friends and family. The problem is new MLM’ers will dabble in one for a few weeks and when they don’t see results they move on to another form of marketing. Each form of marketing takes some time to master it and to build up a network of relationships.

If you really want to change something that will bring success to your MLM, then start changing yourself. Analyze yourself and figure out what it takes to motivate yourself to focus and see one plan through to the results. Take a the time to do some research and find a company that resonates with your opinions, goals, mindset and mission in life. Then find the form of marketing that you feel natural and comfortable with. If you are trying to market and reach out to people in a way that doesn’t feel good to you then you aren’t going to stick with it.

Find your zone and get your groove on, focus and perfect your strategy until you see the results you want.

Now, does anyone know the latest exercise craze? The one I’m doing isn’t working.

I’ll admit it.  When I started in this industry I was a total noob and knew nothing about marketing online.  I didn’t even know what Pay Per Click was.  I am so embarrassed to say that when I first heard it I was watching a Mike Dillard video and I thought he was saying “paper click”.  So I couldn’t even google it to find out what he was talking about!

In the video I saw Mike Dillard was saying that he only uses Pay Per Click for marketing and that it is the first form of marketing a new marketer should learn.   I have heard others recommend that every entrepreneur starting out in MLM should start out using Pay Per Click.  I’m here to disagree, and to tell you why I will never use Pay Per Click.  At least, I won’t for my primary business.

I know, you’re thinking I’m crazy to disagree with Mike Dillard.  But here’s why.  Pay Per Click is rather technical and takes an analytical mind to perfect it.  It holds a reputation of being highly competitive and can be intimidating to many people.  And it has an expensive trial and error period.  For someone just starting out it may get more exposure quicker, but it is going to cost more.

Therefore, I do NOT recommend Pay Per Click to anyone that is new to internet marketing because there are too many basics in this industry to learn. This industry attracts a lot of first time opportunists who are inexperienced in MLM and internet marketing and have never heard of Pay Per Click. I should know, I’m the one that thought Mike Dillard was talking about “paper click”.

Also, in MLM you can count on that what you do in your business is going to be mimicked by those you sponsor.  So if the majority of your marketing is Pay Per Click, that’s what most of your downline is going to think they need to be doing.  And when it doesn’t work for them, they are going to leave.

Now if you are a person that has the technical skills needed to be effective with Pay Per Click then I strongly encourage you to pursue this form of advertising, because there are a lot of noobs out there that don’t have the knack for it and they won’t even be competition for you.  But if you haven’t discovered your natural ability in marketing yet, or you know for a fact that you don’t have the skills for Pay Per Click, leave it for those that do, because they will crush you.  Even if you study Pay Per Click advertising, if you don’t have the natural patience and skill for it, the competition does.

You need to find the form of marketing that is fun for you.  Something that you will wake up everyday and be happy to do it.  So happy that you would do it even if you didn’t get paid.  OK, so maybe not that happy, because everyone wants to get paid for their work.

If you believe that Pay Per Click is your calling for marketing learn how to do it from the best.

Could Failure Be The Key To Success?

I just love how everyone in MLM is such a huge success.  Oh, wait, that’s right they’re not.  97% of people fail in MLM.  So why are there so many people advertising see how I made $blah $blah in MLM?

Because they are trying to sell a dream and appeal to the inner greedy desires of people.  Having only the desire for money isn’t going to bring you long lasting success in this industry.  So anyone using this type of marketing isn’t going to attract long lasting quality prospects to their MLM.  Also, the FTC will send you a nice big fine for using income claims in your advertising.

I believe this is the worst type of MLM advertising for another reason.  It sounds like bragging.  So many people fail in the beginning of this business and I’ve found the ones that are now doing the best in this business share their stories of failure. They also share their story of success, but they don’t throw around dollar amounts.

It’s boastful and they also know that their prospects don’t find it believable.  When something sounds too good to be true our instincts tell us to believe that it isn’t true.

So why are so many marketers making these hugeass income claims?  It really blows my mind.  The biggest lessons we learn in life we learn as a result of our failures.  What is to be gained in a series of successes?  If you’ve never felt the humbling experience of defeat how are you to truly appreciate the feeling of success?

There are enough marketing fanatics out there exaggerating their best month or week in their business.  They hype their income claims without stating expenses. They inflate their lead list claims, never mentioning how many people unsubscribe.

The real experts with real success aren’t afraid to talk about their failures, the stupid things they did, or how much it sucked for them when they started in MLM.  They tend to brag about it more, because it’s a real story that people can relate to.

The bigger the failures in someone’s past the bigger their success story becomes.  Even if their success is small, if there was some huge obstacle they had to overcome to get it, it makes it all that much more of a sweet success.

I personally don’t feel there is much to learn or gain from someone who has had nothing but a string of successes.  There is more character and wisdom in the person who has had to fight for what they have.

Internet Killed the MLM Star

MLM isn’t what it was 20 years ago. Back then when your sponsor told you to go out and tap into your warm market, it was usually the only choice! Using that approach now is almost MLM suicide. Yet so many MLM teams are still using the warm market approach as their primary form of marketing.

There are many who have succeeded with using warm market tactics, but those are few and far between gifted and very charismatic people. In recent years it has become more difficult and the internet has almost made it extinct.

There are two reasons why the internet has killed your warm market approach. The first one is very easy to see just through numbers.

With a warm market you are limited on the number of people you can speak to at a time. You are either giving your sales presentation one on one, or 5-10 people in a home presentation. Hotel presentations usually aren’t that much more promising, I’ve heard dozens of stories about completely zero attendance! People just don’t want to stop and take the time out of their day to remember to show up. You have to chase them down to get their attention.

On the internet you have access to millions of people at once. There are 1.7 billion internet users world wide. 250 million of them are in the US. 80 million of those are searching for ways to make extra money. In December alone over 300,000 of those searched for the exact word phrase “home business opportunity”. Your warm market friends and family list contains about 100 names, but do you know how many of them are looking for a home business opportunity?

Just looking at numbers alone is a good reason to be focusing your attention on internet marketing. But here’s another reason to stay out of your warm market.

You tell your friends and family about your business opportunity, they say they want to talk it over and think about it. What they end up doing is “googling” your opportunity. They find a marketing leader on the internet talking about it. They do more research and not only do they NOT join your business, they join a different one with someone else! Now the holidays just became more awkward.

Marketing to the millions of people online that are already actively searching for ways to make money at home seems much more logical than handing out flyers and business cards to only 100 at the supermarket. All you’re doing at the supermarket is annoying customers and risking getting thrown off the property.

So leave your warm market alone! Once your friends and family see your success they are going to be begging to join you, so you will recruit them anyway.
