I don’t have a story about how I did embarrassing things in public while using the 3 foot rule. I didn’t go through having to call my friends and family. I don’t have a story about years of struggle in the MLM industry. My story is different from the copycat “my story” section of all the other MLM blogs.

I struggled for 2 months. I didn’t get success in my third month though, or my fourth. Actually, I did something stupid, much dumber than what other marketers talk about. But first, let me tell you about the problem I had before I made my huge mistake.

The first two months I spent in MLM were with a “green” company that sold alternative household items and some vitamins. They weren’t really any different from any other MLM company that sold that kind of product, but I didn’t know that at the time and this was my first exposure to MLM.

I joined the company because they said that I could work from home and market online. However, as soon as I signed up they told me to make a list of my friends and family and get them to sign up. I was angry about that deception and insisted on marketing online and took their training for internet marketing.

This training involved signing up on free job classified websites and posting ads. It took forever and got very little results. Maybe about 1 lead a week. Then the classified sites started shutting down accounts of everybody that was placing these kinds of ads because too many people were doing it and we were all using the ad copy that our upline told us we had to use because the ads were approved.

To say I was upset that this was the “training” I was receiving on how to marketing online is more than an understatement.

So I quit. Then I did something stupid. I spent the next 4 months studying MLM and marketing. This was a good thing because I was learning, but the stupid part was that I was not doing anything to be productive or make money. I was just sitting around taking in all this information making sure that I “got it right” before I started. Huge mistake.

There is no reason to sit around studying and postponing putting your knowledge to work in this industry. This is an EARN while you LEARN profession. And I made one of the biggest rookie mistakes and thought I had to know everything before I could get started.

Then someone shook me out of my assumptions that were all wrong. They finally gave me a slap across the face and said “What are you doing?!?!?” Someone cared enough to tell me to get myself in action.

I joined with a team of mastermind marketers that taught me more than I had learned in 4 months of studying on my own. Within 3 hours I had learned how to sponsor reps into my MLM company and on day one I had 5 reps enrolled in my downline. I hadn’t enrolled a single soul in the 6 months prior.

Not only was I ecstatic, but I felt so stupid and was kicking myself that I hadn’t done it sooner! I wasted so much time! Working with others as a team and learning together, holding each other accountable and masterminding for our businesses made the difference.

Instead of trying to put all the pieces together by myself I started learning with and from people that already had success.

Now life is good. It’s balanced. I’ve gone from worrying about rent and groceries to eating whatever I want without having to worry about cutting into the rent money and now I’m looking at ocean front real estate in L.A.

This blog is here to not only bring you the truth of MLM and give you what no one else will tell you, but for you to realize that you can do this.

Even with massive success I’ve kept it simple here. No flashy videos and shiny promos. So anyone can do this. You can do this, and maybe even faster and better than I did. My biggest regret is the time I spent waiting. Learn from someone else’s mistake. Mine. Take action. Let’s raise the bar together!
